The prototype is the small scale model. it's like a miniature car or a miniature building town or any other model that used to demonstrate the project. We can use any tools and creativity to create a prototype. By doing a prototype, we can evaluate and collect feedback from the targeted users. In simple words, prototypes answer the question and support designers in choosing between alternatives.
There are four things that should be prototyped which are:
- Technical issues
- Workflow, task design
- Screen layout and information display.
- difficult, controversial, critical areas.
Two types of the prototype:
- Low-fidelity - sketches, storyboard
- High-fidelity - using software prototype, digital visualization.
Reflection
In this chapter, I learn about the prototype. The prototype can be used to demonstrate our system or application. We can use various sources to create a prototype. For example, when I want to build a house, I can use paper to sketch the house or I can also use a cupboard to build a sample house. The prototype is not only using a software or computer but we can use any tools around us.
