Topic 3: Design Principles and Guidelines

Design Principles

High-level and general design goals focused on human-computer interface opinions are called design guidelines. It has the lowest "Authority" ranking since it is recognised by society, however, it is important. However, since it is very large and high-level, it has the highest rank of "Applicability."

Design Guidelines

Design guidelines are a set of specific, typically context-specific procedures that designers must follow in order to achieve the design principles. In terms of "Authority" and "Applicability," it falls somewhere between ideals and norms.

Design Standards

Design Standard is standards that are used to guarantee the quality of a design. We may assume that it ranks first in terms of "Authority" because it is mandated by the standards authority. It, on the other hand, has the lowest "Applicability" rating since the criteria are too niche and unique

Reflection

I learn about the difference between design standards, design principles and design guidelines. I think all the topics here are the same but I am wrongly expecting that. There has their own definition and now I can differentiate all the subtopic.
