Topic 4: User Interface(UI) and User Experience(UX) Methodology

 User-Centred Design (UCD)

UCD is the process by which the designer and stakeholder focus on the user and their needs in each phase of the design process.

Five major UCD principle:

i. Clear knowledge and understanding of the user and task requirement.

ii. Combine all the feedback from users to produce the requirement and design.

iii. Early and active collaboration between designer and user to evaluate the design of the product.

iv. Integrating UCD with other development activities.

v. Iterative design process.

Design Thinking(DT)

Design thinking is a human-centred approach to innovation that draws from the designer's toolkit to integrate the needs of people, the possibilities of technology, and the requirement for business success.

In a simple way, DT is the filisophy of all design process and approach. It can be included in another design methodology such as Design Sprint.

Design Sprint(DS)

DS is a DT method were used to handle very complex problem throughout co-creation, rapid prototyping, and qualitative testing with targeted users.
